Q: Who
are the SJ Horsewomen?
A: Stargate
fans, just like yourself. Many of us are Sam and Jack
shippers, which is reflected in our name, the SJ Horsewomen.
However, we have several members who wouldn't consider
themselves to be shippers; they fall under the 'genner'
or 'slasher' category. But as it says in our mission
statement, the one thing we have in common is our feeling
that The Powers That Be, including Brad Wright, should
be allowed to conduct their show as they see fit without
a lot of naysaying from the very people who should be
supporting them.
Q: When
were the Horsewomen formed?
A: The
Horsewomen were formed in the fall of 2000 -- more specifically,
October of that year.
Q: What
was the reason behind the founding of the Horsewomen?
A: Friendship,
founded upon common beliefs mentioned in our mission
statement. (See: About Us.)
Q: Who
is your leader?
A: The
Horsewoman initially started out with five members:
Pestilence, War, Famine, Death and Chaos. Now, with
approximately thirty members, no one person takes any
kind of leadership role. There's simply no need. We're
all individuals with our own thoughts, feelings and
perceptions regarding our status as SJHW.
Q: Are
the HW a "shipper lobbying" group?
A: No,
we’re not. Many of us are SJ shippers, but not
all. Those of us who are SJ shippers trust Brad Wright
and Co. to follow through with the Sam and Jack subtext
that has been present since COTG. If we lobby for anything,
we lobby for the right of TPTB to produce the show that
we enjoy so much the way they see fit.
Q: Is
it true that you hate Daniel Jackson?
A: Not
true. As a general rule, we like Daniel and enjoy his
character. Where we may differ from other groups is
that we don’t see Daniel as the heart and soul
of the team, we see the entire team as the heart and
soul of Stargate SG-1. If we make fun of Daniel, it
is all done in good humor and tongues planted firmly
in cheek.
