This
month, I'm taking a look at a popular Stargate website:
Gateworld. This site, located at www.gateworld.net, was originally one of
the Guides set up way back when on the Sumner's site, but moved to its
own domain about the same time (and Yes, I could be wrong!) that the
Gateworld Delphi forum took off.
Lots
of stuff on the index page! This page is updated on a very regular basis
with current news from all over the SG fandom including the SciFi Channel's
official SG site. Need to know
what's airing next in syndication or on the SciFi Channel? For a quick answer, check out the main page.
The
Episode Guide is outstanding. Each aired episode has the summary, ratings
(the Gateworld rating, a fan rating, and the official Nielsen rating),
comments from the producers and others gleaned from chats, interviews,
and commentary, 'associated episode' links,
and more. All episodes also include selected screen caps
and/or official shots, as well as US airing dates. You really have to see this area to believe
it. I think the only thing missing
is the full transcript of each episode.
The
pages for Stargate: Atlantis (the projected spin-off), Stargate:
Infinity (the animated series), and the movies (both the original
1994 Devlin/Emmerich production
and the anticipated sequel) have ratings, spoilers, speculation, and
other information that pertains to each topic.
The
Library contains detailed information on the characters, the races that
the SGC encounters, and the primary villains -- the Gou'ald.
Want to know about the Gou'ald Mot?
It's there! How about
info on Major Paul Davis? Look
under "Characters". Each
listing has the character name and a photo, the name of the actor who
portrayed the character, when the character first appeared,
and tidbits on the appearance. You
can find information on races from the Abydonians to the Unas. This is where one would look to find what planet
or system each race originates from.
There is a lot of interesting background information.

you like to chat, or want to express your opinion to over 5800 other
fans, visit the Gateworld Forums on Delphi. It's
free to join, and there are threads touching on all aspects of SG and
its fandom.
The
Articles page has links to everything from interviews episode reviews
to fandom editorials and mythology links. Want to know the actual historical mythology
concerning the Egyptian goddess Hathor?
This is a good jumping-off point to start your search.

in all, this is a pretty awesome site, and I highly recommend it to
both the 'newbie' and the seasoned 'oldbie'.
