The Stargate FAQ Q: When was the first Stargate located in Giza? A: According to the Stargate movie (which isn't always accurate in the TV-series universe) the Stargate was found in 1920. Q: Where do Jonas (pre-'Homecoming') and Teal'c live? A: Although it's never been specifically established on the series, it's assumed by most that Teal'c and Jonas Quinn live in the SGC, venturing out into the Earth public only when necessary and accompanied by others (such as in the episode "Nightwalkers". While it's possible that either man could have a residence in Colorado Springs, it's doubtful that the Air Force would take the security risk that two aliens pose. Q: If [military character] was promoted, what would their rank be, and what does the insignia look like? A: For information about and pictures of enlisted insignia, go here. For information about and pictures of commissioned officer insignia, go here. GRUNT is a good site for information about the USAF. Q: Where is the SGC Located? A: Stargate Command is located at the Cheyenne Mountain Complex in Colorado Springs, CO, 28 floors beneath NORAD. Now, if you ask any Air Force personel about the existance of the Stargate, don't expect a straight answer. It is, of course, top secret. Q: How old are the main characters? A: Jack: in Season One (specific episode forgotten), it mentioned that he was around forty years old. Thus, by Season Six, assuming one year per season, he can reasonably be assumed to be forty-six years of age. Sam: no specific age has been mentioned, but most people generally agree that Sam is in her mid-thirties. Daniel: In the Season Two episode '1969', Daniel mentioned being four years old in the year 1969. In 2003 (assuming he doesn't lose a year while being 'Ascended') he should be celebrating his thirty-eighth birthday. Teal'c: During Season One (episode once again forgotten), Teal'c mentioned being either ninety-nine or one hundred and one years of age. Jaffa live a looooong time. Jonas: No age has been given for Jonas. (As of publication, however, actor Corin Nemec is 31.) Q: What do we know about the main characters' families? A: Nothing is know about Jack's parents or siblings (although it was implied in 'Fragile Balance' that he's an only child).. He was married to Sara and had a son Charlie. When Charlie died, Jack and Sara split. In Season Two he refers to her as his 'ex-wife'. Daniel is an orphan, as evinced by the events shown in Season Two's 'The Gamekeeper'. His history after that is unknown according to the series, however the movie provides a very little background about foster homes and such. He married Sha're of Abydos, and through her has a father-in-law in Kasuf of Abydos, and a brother-in-law in Ska'ara of Abydos. Although he and Sha're had no children, he has a 'stepson' of sorts (the son of Sha're by the Goa'uld System Lord Apophis) - the harcesis Shifu. Sam's mother died in a car accident when Sam was fourteen, and she was distant (but civil) with her father until the Season Two episode 'The Tok'ra'. Both she and her father were estranged from her brother until Season Three's 'Seth' when they were reconciled. Teal'c's father died at the hand of the Goa'uld System Lord Cronos when Teal'c was still a child. His mother is presumed to be dead. He had a wife Drey'ac who turned up married another man in the Season Two episode 'Family', and a son Rya'c, last seen in the Season Six episode 'Redemption'. It should be mentioned that in his 'vision' of an alternate life, 'T's partner was Shauna - a 'human' version of the Jaffa priestess Shaun'ac (met and disposed of in Season Four's 'Crossroads' - rather than Drey'ac, suggesting that while his responsibilities lay with Drey'ac, his heart lay with Shaun'ac. Jonas has no mentioned family, however he retained strong ties to his mentor Dr. Kieran of Kelowna. Dr. Kieran was last seen in the Season Six episode 'Shadow Play', having gone insane due to prolonged exposure to the radioactive element naquadriah.
